ABOUT THIS EVENT
Eclipse Party at Yancey County Public Library April 8, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
We will observe the partial solar eclipse using approved Eclipse Viewing Glasses which will be provided by the library for free. We will also make pinhole projectors for viewing as well as having a telescope with a solar filter available for a closer look at the sun during the eclipse. Informational handouts on eclipses will be available as well. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free to skywatchers of all ages.
In the event of clouds or rain there will be a video presentation on eclipses with a live stream of the eclipse as well. We will also serve refreshments.
NCSciFest's annual Statewide Star Party is made possible through the generous support of the NC Space Grant.
